A Rich History

Esquimalt is proud of its rich history. The historic sites, artifacts and buildings that are remnants of our colourful past not only reinforce our sense of place and the special and unique character of our community, they are valuable municipal assets and their protection, rehabilitation and adaptive reuse can generate a wide range of social, economic and environmental benefits back to the community.

Esquimalt Council previously had a Heritage Advisory Committee in place—it was a committee of Council and reported to Council. Let West Bay Residents Association know if you think it is time for Council to re-establish such a committee.
